For whatever reason, I was VERY sleepy yesterday at around 2:00pm. I’d doze off to sleep at my desk and could feel my head nod forward. To my three o’clock position, I saw some guys laughing. Yeah, if I get caught that’s because there’s nothing to do here at this “temp job from hell”.
To keep from falling asleep, I’d check my empty emails from two popular sites and blog online. But for about a couple of hours or so my primary weblog site was no functioning! I was in distress and actually used my Twitter.com for the first time and tried pasting the messages, which could be no more than 140 characters per “Tweet” post.
Here is the first message at around 2:20pm. It was a “503 Error”:
Something has gone wrong with our servers. It’s probably Matt’s fault. We’ve just been notified of the problem.Hopefully this should be fixed ASAP, so kindly reload in a minute and things should be back to normal.
Here is the second message at around 2:38pm. It was a “WordPress.com 504 Error”:
There was a small systems error. Please try refreshing the page and if the error is still there drop us a note and let us know.
After a few more tries, I decided to “drop a note” but found the following message:
WordPress.com is currently experiencing a few problems. We are pushing all of our resources to resolve the issue as soon as possible. The latest information will be posted here. Thanks so much for your patience.
We take security very seriously at WordPress.com and greatly appreciate receiving private notification from security researchers before full disclosure to the public. If you believe you have found a security issue, please submit your findings
At 3:55pm and after logging in successfully into my WordPress.com account, my dashboard now showed the following message:
We’re experiencing some problems on WordPress.com and we are in read-only mode at the moment. We’re working hard on restoring full service as soon as possible, but you won’t be able to create or make changes to your site currently.
I’ve learned nothing but stress out from the fact that I’d still have to work one more month as per my phone call to a “friend” at around 2:55pm during my 15 minutes walk around the building outdoors in the cold air and under the fluffy, puffy rain clouds of rain. Instead of relaxing and enjoying my nap I was concerned if my precious posts were mysteriously “compromised”. Hmm.
